Paper: Argumentation / Persuasion Abortion The thought of killing a human being, to most people, is bone chilling and can stand the hair on the back of your neck on end. Taking some ones life is the end all, and even in the most justifiable circumstances, anyone would buckle and not go through with it. Abortion, on the other hand, is a justifiable murder do to the fact that if you don’t think you can take care of a child, why even go through the psychological changes to change your mind. Abortion is an operation to end a pregnancy by removing an embryo or fetus from the womb. There are two main types of abortion procedures used today; suction-aspiration, and dilation and curettage (www.abortion facts.com). These two procedures†¦show more content†¦Lastly, if one side of the relationship does not want the responsibilities that a child brings, then consider raising a child alone. The chances are that no matter what you choose, the opposing partner will most likely stick to there guns and leave if the child is conceived, so why even put your self in the situation. On the other hand, medical studies have shown that an EEG (electroencephalograph) is on of the leading ways to determine death. It is used to show brain wave activity, and has shown brain activity in fetuses 40-43 days after being conceived (www.leaderu.com). Another creditable argument is that the heartbeat is a sign of life. The fetus develops the heart at 18 days. A stopped heart is a valid sign of death and if the issue was defining life, then abortion would be outlawed everywhere. Even though the medical indications are credible, the fact still remains, if you are not ready to have a child, then it is best to make the decision early and know that the best decision was made due to the circumstances. There are plenty of ways to prevent the realities of even the option of having an abortion. Practicing safe sex i.e. abstinent, condoms, and birth control, to name a few. Taking your time before having sex and educating yourself on the risks of both sides. Although, if the pregnancy is unexpected and there are no cons to having a child then consider the alternative.
